Build a chess set |
You will be learning some new tools and techniques to make this chess set.
1) You will learn to load an image of your piece in the background. The shortcut for Display in Lightwave is the letter d. 2) You will use the pen tool under the create tab o create a polygon shape of your chess piece 3) You will use the lathe tool under the multiply tab to create a 3D model of your game piece 4) You will use weld tool to close holes 5) You will use the q shortcut to name and color your game piece |
Build a Pawn
Load an imagePress the d key on your keyboard for display and choose backdrop. Choose bottom or right as the window you load your image into. Zoom in by using the magnifying glass in the window.

Make an outlineUse the pen tool under the create tab to make a dot to dot style outline of one half of the piece.

LatheUse the lathe tool under the multiply tab to spin your 3D model around. Stop at the center black line. If it looks inside out, press the f key on your keyboard to flip it

Build a Rook or castle
To build your rook piece:
1) load the image found on google classroom or your own choice of image into the backdrop by pressing d for display on your keyboard. 2) Use the pen tool under the create tab to outline one side of your piece. 3) Use the lathe tool under the multiply tab to spin it into a 3D object. 4) Color or texture the object by pressing q and giving it a name and color. |
